The policy and governance division provides leadership over administrative policy development and management for the WSU system. The division serves as a resource to university units and administrators for policy drafting, review, and implementation, helping to ensure legal and regulatory compliance, efficiency, accessibility, equity, and transparency.
On the governance side, the division works with the Board of Regents, the Office of the President, and university leadership to help ensure university decision-making is occurring at the appropriate level and the Board has the information, resources, and training it needs to comply with its fiduciary duties. This includes assisting with the development, review, and implementation of Board policies, bylaws, training, and meeting materials and schedules to help ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements as well as best practices.
