Cultural Awareness

Each country has its own culture, and many countries have multiple cultures within its borders. Respecting cultural differences can contribute to a safe experience while abroad. Examples of cultural differences include religious beliefs, local customs, and traditions.

Language Skills

If you are traveling to a non-English-speaking country, learning basic phrases in the local language can help with accessing basic needs and immersing oneself in the culture. 

Cuisine and Dining Etiquette

Equip yourself with knowledge about the cuisine, especially if you have dietary restrictions.

Cultivate Open-mindedness

Avoid stereotypes, actively listen to local perspectives, and take time to immerse yourself in local traditions and activities.
